How to Visit Facility

Visits at David Wade Correctional Center (DWCC) happen Thursday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Plan your travel around that window.

You can't just show up. The person you're visiting must request that you be added to their visiting list first. Once the Visitation Department reviews the request, they'll notify the imprisoned person whether you've been approved or denied.

Note: Before heading out, confirm the current visiting days (Thursday through Saturday), hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), and your approval status.

How to Visit Facility

Steps

  • Ask the imprisoned person to request that you be approved for his visiting list.
  • Wait for the Visitation Department’s decision (approval or denial) to be provided to the imprisoned person.
  • Plan your visit for a regular visiting day: Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.
  • Plan your arrival within visiting hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Before you make the trip, verify three things with DWCC: that the schedule is still Thursday through Saturday, that visiting hours are still 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and that you've been approved on the visiting list. The Visitation Department notifies the imprisoned person directly about approvals and denials, so you're essentially confirming what they've already been told.
