JPay lockbox money orders must be payable to JPay and sent to the Los Angeles lockbox—don't include letters or notes. Checks or money orders mailed directly to the institution (payable to CDCR) have no fee but are held for 30 days. Some purposes, like family visiting funds, may not accept EFT. Keep in mind that CDCR may deduct restitution from wages and trust deposits.
