How to Visit Facility
Visiting starts online. The CDCR GTL visit portal is where you'll schedule and manage all your upcoming visits.
Start by signing in to the CDCR GTL visit portal. From there, you can schedule visits with your incarcerated loved one and pick the date, time, and location that work for you. Once you submit a request, the visit is confirmed instantly.
New to the portal? Look for the "Claim Account" option. That's how first-time visitors create an account to start scheduling.
Note: The portal handles account creation and scheduling with instant confirmation. Rules like visiting hours, ID requirements, dress code, and fees vary by facility, so verify those before you make the trip.
Steps to Follow
- ✓ Use the portal’s “Claim Account” option to create your account if you don’t have one.
- ✓ Sign in and schedule your visit by selecting the date, time, and location.
- ✓ Watch for the instant confirmation in the portal after you complete scheduling.
Before you go, confirm the details the portal doesn't spell out. Check the facility's current visiting hours, what ID (and any other paperwork) you'll need at check-in, and whether there's a visitor approval process you must complete ahead of time. If anything seems to conflict with what you expected, rely on the facility's official guidance and the FAQ section in the CDCR GTL portal.
Tip: If the portal won't load or the "Claim Account" page isn't working, contact the facility directly to confirm your options and whether an account is required to schedule.
