Youth at Southwest Idaho Juvenile Detention Center can receive visits three ways: phone, Webex, or no-contact. The format depends on the day - check the schedule below to see what's available when.

Note: The Center’s visitation guidelines state youth are allowed two (2) one-hour visits per week.

Monday through Thursday, Webex and phone visits run from 2:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This is your main weekday window.

Fridays work differently: Webex and no-contact visits are available from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Phone visits aren't an option on Fridays, so plan accordingly.

Saturdays and Sundays offer the longest hours - 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. - with no-contact and phone visits available. Just make sure you're choosing a format that matches the day.

Sending mail? Address the envelope exactly like this: Juvenile's Name SW. Idaho Juvenile Detention Center 222 North 12th Avenue Caldwell, Idaho 83605

Return address required: Mail to juveniles must include your return address on the envelope.

When your child is released, a parent or guardian must pick them up in person. Bring a valid photo ID - you'll need to show it at release.

If you refuse pickup: The Center will notify the Department of Health and Welfare and local law enforcement to initiate abandonment charges.

Detention can come with costs. Under Idaho Code 20-524(2), the court may order parents or guardians to pay for part of their child's detention.
