How to visit, scheduling, dress code, and visitor requirements
Carroll County Detention Center uses Smart Communications (SmartInmate) for video visitation. You'll need to create a SmartInmate account and schedule your visit through the vendor portal. Video visits run by appointment and may have limits on length and frequency—they can be available on-site or remotely depending on the setup. Before booking, confirm the inmate's housing location and whether you need to be on an approved visitor list. Adult visitors should bring a government-issued photo ID. The Detention Center also offers fingerprinting from 8:00am to 4:00pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. For other transactions, the Sheriff's Office accepts cash or money orders at the window during regular business hours (excluding holidays and weekends).
