How to Schedule a Visit at Carson City Detention Center
Visiting at Carson City Detention Center requires an appointment, and the scheduling window is narrow. Here's how to secure your visit and what you'll need when you arrive.
Call (775) 283-4777 on Thursdays between 9:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. to schedule your visit. Miss that window? You'll have to wait until the following Thursday.
Visits happen on Saturdays only and last 15 minutes. Plan accordingly - especially if you're traveling a distance.
Before calling, confirm you're on the inmate's approved visitors list. If your name isn't on the list, you won't be allowed in.
- ✓ Bring a valid U.S. or Canadian photo ID.
- ✓ If you’re a foreign visitor, bring a valid passport.
- ✓ If you don’t have ID available, the on-duty supervisor may authorize a visit with or without ID.
Limits Special Cases
- ✓ Expect to be limited to one visit per week.
- ✓ Each visit allows no more than two visitors, plus one child.
Attorneys and legal counsel aren't subject to the same visit limits. The facility places no restrictions on legal visits.
All visits are non-contact and supervised by staff. Be prepared for changes - visiting arrangements can be altered or cancelled at any time, so follow staff directions once you're on site.
- ✓ Be ready to pass a security screening.
- ✓ Understand you may be subject to a physical search.
