Visiting a Juvenile at Carson City Detention: How Parents and Guardians Schedule Sunday Visits

To schedule a juvenile detention visit, you’ll need to call the front office at 775-887-2033.

The front office handles scheduling Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you want a Sunday visit, call during those weekday hours to get your request on the books.

Deadline: Visit requests must be in by 5:00 p.m. on Friday for Sunday visitation.

The Sunday morning slot runs from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. If mornings work better for your family, request this window when you call.

The Sunday afternoon slot runs from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. - request this time instead if it fits your schedule better.

One-or-the-other: You may attend either the 10:00 a.m. visit or the 3:30 p.m. visit on Sunday, but not both.

Only immediate family and legal caretakers can visit. That means parents, grandparents, or legal guardians - no one else.

Bring government-issued photo ID. The facility requires it when you visit or pick up your child/ward, and showing up without it can end your visit before it starts.

Heads up: Visits can be denied or canceled at any time, entirely at staff discretion.

  1. Call the juvenile front office - use 775-887-2033 to ask why the visit was denied/canceled and what your next scheduling option is.
  2. Request a new visit time - staff can tell you what’s available and how to submit your request within their scheduling process.
