What to Wear (and Not Wear) When Visiting Central Florida Reception Center
The dress code at Central Florida Reception Center is strictly enforced. Dress conservatively and follow the Florida DOC rules below so you don't get turned away at check-in.
If you're 16 or older, bring a valid photo ID to enter the visiting area at Central Florida Reception Center. Staff check it before letting you in, so make sure it's current and government-issued (driver's license, state ID, or passport all work).
Start with the basics: you must wear a shirt. If your outfit feels borderline, swap it out before you leave the house. The facility enforces dress rules at the door, and you can lose your visit if you don't meet them.
Shoes required: Shoes are mandatory. Do not wear Heelys or any footwear with removable parts.
Pay close attention to length if you're wearing a dress, skirt, or Bermuda-length shorts. Anything more than three inches above your knee is not permitted. An easy way to check at home: stand straight and measure about three inches up from the top of your kneecap. If your hem is shorter than that, pick something else.
Skip anything with camouflage. Central Florida Reception Center prohibits camo patterns of all types, including jungle (green), urban (grey/black), and desert (tan/brown). If a print looks like camo or is meant to resemble a military pattern, leave it at home.
