How to Schedule a Two-Day Visit at Central New Mexico Correctional Facility (CNMCF)
Traveling a long way to visit someone at CNMCF? The two-day visit option can make the trip worthwhile. Here's how it works, what to expect, and what needs to be in place before you go.
CNMCF offers a two-day in-person visit option for families traveling long distances. Instead of cramming everything into one day, you get two hours on day one and two hours on day two. The days must be consecutive - Monday and Tuesday, for example - and the same visitors must attend both days. Decide who's coming before you schedule.
When you’re scheduled, you’ll be placed into a two-hour visiting block. CNMCF uses set time windows, so you’re not picking an open-ended start and end time - your visit will fall into one of the established two-hour blocks.
Everyone planning to visit must already be on the incarcerated person's approved visitation list. This matters even more for two-day visits because the same visitors are required both days - if someone isn't approved, they can't swap in for day two.
Think about headcount too. An inmate may have up to three visitors age six and older, plus up to three children age five and under, at one time if space permits. If you're traveling with extended family, decide ahead of time who will actually enter the visiting room both days. You don't want someone making the trip only to be turned away.
In-person visits happen Monday through Friday and must be scheduled at least one week in advance. That lead time matters for travel planning - don't book a last-minute trip expecting to get in the same week.

- ✓ 10:00–12:00
- ✓ 1:00–3:00
Prepare Before Booking
- ✓ Complete the Visitor Application for Visiting Privileges (CD-100201.1).
- ✓ Make sure every visitor reads and signs the Visitor Statement of Understanding (CD-100201.A) before any visit.
Plan your clothing ahead of time. CNMCF follows the NMCD Dress Code for Visitors (Attachment CD-100201.B), and staff enforce it at the door. One rule that catches people off guard: hats, scarves, bandanas, and headbands can't be brought into the institution or worn in the visiting room. Leave them in the car so you're not stuck figuring out what to do at check-in.
Before locking in travel dates, confirm the exact group that will visit both days - CNMCF requires the same visitors for the consecutive two-day schedule. Bringing kids or multiple adults? Keep the visiting-room limits in mind: up to three visitors age six and older and up to three children age five and under at one time if space permits.
Warning: Refusing to submit to a strip search will result in the cancellation or suspension of the visit.
Know what type of visit to expect. CNMCF's in-person visits are barrier (non-contact) unless you're immediate family and proof of kinship has been provided. If you're hoping for a contact visit, confirm what documentation is required and that it's already on file. Otherwise, plan for non-contact both days.
Your two-day visit will be tied to one of the facility's two-hour blocks: 8:00–10:00, 10:00–12:00, or 1:00–3:00. Take the schedule seriously both days. Being late can cost you time you won't get back - especially after traveling for a consecutive-day visit.
