How to Schedule and Prepare for a Video Visit at Charles B. Webster Detention Center
Video visits at Charles B. Webster Detention Center are easy to set up once you understand the timing rules. Here's how to schedule correctly, check in on time, and avoid the common mistakes that get visits cut short or denied.
Charles B. Webster Detention Center offers two-way, real-time video visitation - you and your loved one see and speak with each other live. Every visit must be scheduled and approved ahead of time. Walk-ins won't work. All video visits happen at the facility's Visitor Center, which serves as the hub for family members, attorneys, social workers, and other visitors. It's also where inmate releases take place, so expect it to be busy. Give yourself extra time to get checked in.
Video visitation is available Monday through Friday during two daily windows: 9:00 AM–11:30 AM and 12:30 PM–4:00 PM. If you try to schedule outside those times, you’ll need to pick a different slot.
Last-minute scheduling isn't an option. You must book your visit at least one day ahead, and you can schedule up to a week in advance. Want a Monday visit? Get it on the calendar by Sunday. Keep the weekly limit in mind: inmates get one (1) visit per week. If you're coordinating with other family members or friends, talk it through beforehand so no one accidentally uses up the week's slot.
Scheduling in person? Use one of the two kiosks in the Visitor Center. Since this is also where video visits and inmate releases happen, it can get crowded. Arrive with enough time to handle any lines or questions before your scheduled slot.
Show up at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time. Late arrivals may only get whatever time remains - or be turned away entirely.
