Three Ways to Bond Someone Out of Charles B. Webster Detention Center

All bonding transactions happen at the facility's Visitors Center. If you're signing paperwork or paying a bond in person, that's where you'll go.

Webster offers three ways to bond someone out: a professional bonding company, a property bond, or a cash bond. The right choice depends on what you can afford upfront and how much financial risk you're willing to take.

Going through a bonding company? Expect to pay 12–15% of the total bond amount as their fee. That money is non-refundable. The company may also require collateral to cover the full bond, so be ready to discuss what you can put up if they ask.

A property bond uses the assessed value of your property - not what you think it would sell for. At Webster, 40% of that assessed value must cover the bond amount.

The upside? A property bond isn't meant to tie up your property forever. Once the case is finished, the property is released from the bond.

Cash Bonds and Fee

• ✓ Pay with cash or a cashier’s check only (no change allowed)

With a cash bond, you put up the full amount yourself. If the bonded person makes all court appearances and finishes the case, you get that money back. Miss court? You can lose it.

One more thing: property bonds and cash bonds at Webster come with a $20 Sheriff's Bonding Fee under OCGA 15-16-21(c)(8). Factor that in on top of whatever you're posting.
