What You Can (and Can't) Mail to an Inmate at Charles B. Webster Detention Center

Keep everything letter-size. Incoming mail at Charles B. Webster Detention Center must be no larger than 8.5 x 11 inches.

Thickness matters too. Mail needs to be no thicker than light card stock and able to feed through a sheet-fed scanner. Bulky items, layered paper, or anything stiff enough to jam the scanner will likely be rejected.

Thinking of tucking something extra into the envelope? Don't. Pictures are the only enclosures allowed.

There's a limit on photos too. Each inmate can receive up to 10 photographs per package, so pick your favorites and save the rest for another mailing.

Photos must be actual prints on photo paper - not regular printer paper.

Leave mailing supplies out of the envelope. Stamps, blank envelopes, and stationery are prohibited and may be destroyed.

Don't send money through the mail. Cash, checks, and any other currency are prohibited.

Skip anything printed from a website. Internet printouts aren't allowed and will be destroyed.

Use plain white paper only. Colored pages aren't permitted and will be destroyed.

Note: Provocative material is not permitted in inmate mail and will be destroyed.
