What ID to bring for visits at Charles Egeler (adults and children)
Bringing the right ID is the easiest way to avoid getting turned away at the door—or losing your video visit slot. Use the checklists below to make sure adults and kids have everything they need.
For in-person visits at Charles Egeler, every adult visitor must show a government-issued photo ID before entering. Staff check IDs every single time - don't assume you're "already on file" from a previous visit.
- ✓ Driver’s license
- ✓ State identification card
- ✓ Military identification card
- ✓ Passport
- ✓ Other government-issued identification with a photo
Heads up: You'll need to show ID before each in-person visit. If you only have a temporary license without a photo, bring another photo ID along with it.
Kids under 18 need identification documentation for every visit too. Charles Egeler accepts specific original or certified documents for minors. If the child already has a government-issued photo ID, that works as well.
- ✓ Original or certified true copy of a birth certificate
- ✓ Certificate of adoption
- ✓ Court order establishing paternity
- ✓ Pictured government-issued ID (if the minor has one), such as a driver’s license, state ID, passport, or other government-issued ID
Tip: If a child's name or paperwork might not match what's on file exactly, bring any supporting documents you have. It helps staff verify everything faster.
- Log into ViaPath 10 minutes early - Registered adult visitors must sign in ahead of time for verification and approval.
- Hold your pictured ID up to the camera - You’ll be asked to present a government-issued photo ID on video before the visit starts.
- Say everyone’s name on the call - State the name of each person who will be on the video visit for verification.
For video visits: A temporary ID or license without a photo must be shown alongside another photo ID. A restricted or suspended license still counts for identification purposes.
If your ID or documents don't match what's in the Visitor Tracking records, expect delays while staff try to verify your information. You might even be denied entry until it's sorted out. This happens most often when names have changed or when a minor's paperwork is missing or incomplete.
- ✓ For minors, bring the required original or certified document (birth certificate/adoption certificate/court order) each visit.
- ✓ If you have a temporary ID that doesn’t include a photo, bring an additional photo ID to back it up.
