Sending Physical Photos to an Inmate at Chatham County: exactly what to do

Photos and other personal mail at Chatham County Detention Center don't go straight into the facility. You have two options: send them electronically through JailATM, or mail them to the JailATM vendor address in Atlanta for processing. Emailing photographs as attachments won't work - they won't be delivered that way.

If you’re mailing printed photos, they must go to the JailATM mail-scanning vendor (not directly to the jail). Address the envelope like this: JailATM.com – Chatham County Jail INMATE ID #: INMATE FULL NAME 925B Peachtree St. NE, Box 2062 Atlanta, GA 30309

• ✓ Put the inmate’s full name on the outside of the envelope, exactly as the jail/vendor expects it.
• ✓ Include the inmate’s ID number (DIN) on the outside of the envelope.
• ✓ Make sure the inmate ID number and name are clearly printed so it doesn’t get lost or misdirected.

Once the vendor receives your photos, they review and scan them. The images are then sent electronically to the inmate - your loved one won't receive the original printed photos. If you're used to mailing physical pictures that get kept, this works differently. The scanned version is what they'll actually see.

Clean addressing is your best protection against delays. Print the inmate's full name and ID number (DIN) clearly on the envelope, and send photos through JailATM - either online or by mailing to the vendor address.
