How to Send Food & Package Orders Through Union Supply (Georgia Inmate Package)

If your loved one is in a Georgia Department of Corrections facility that uses the Georgia Inmate Package program, Union Supply is how you'll place food and package orders. Here's what you need to know about ordering methods, fees, deadlines, and the limits that could keep an order from going through.

Union Supply handles orders for the Georgia Inmate Package program, which serves people housed in Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) facilities. Before you place an order, confirm that your loved one's facility participates in this program. Once you've verified that, you can order using any of the approved methods below.

GDC's program rules cover State Prisons, Integrated Treatment Facilities (ITFs), and Probation Detention Centers. The spending and weight limits differ depending on the facility type, so know which category your loved one's facility falls under before you start building your cart or filling out a form.

You can place an order online through the Georgia Inmate Package site. Prefer to review everything on paper first? Downloadable order forms are also available, which is helpful if you want to look over the item list before committing.

To order by mail, send your completed order to: Union Supply 2500 Regent Blvd Dept. 421 P.O. Box 619059 Dallas, TX 75261-9059

To order by phone, call 1-562-361-5719. You can also use the toll-free number: 1-855-247-0563.

To place an order by fax, use 1-310-603-1188.

Every Union Supply order includes a $2.95 shipping and handling charge. That fee is non-refundable, so double-check your order details before you hit submit.

Deadline warning: Orders received after the program deadline will not be accepted. If you're ordering by mail or fax, build in extra time.

Spending Weight Limits and Consolidation Rules

  • State Prisons and Integrated Treatment Facilities (ITFs): maximum $100 per offender or 15 lbs. per package (whichever limit is reached first).
  • Probation Detention Centers: maximum $50 per offender or 7 lbs. per package (whichever limit is reached first).

When more than one order is placed for the same offender, those orders get consolidated into a single package. That combined package still has to fall within the spending and weight limits for the facility type. So even if each individual order looks fine, the total could push things over the limit and get rejected.

Downloadable order forms are available through the Georgia Inmate Package site. The form lists every item pre-approved by the Georgia Department of Corrections, so you won't accidentally pick something that can't be sent.

You can also download a PDF version of the food package program details from the "Food Package Program PDFs" section of the sending packages page. It's a handy reference to save or print.

Exception: Riverbend Private Prison in Georgia still uses the Access Securepak package program (not Union Supply) until further notice.
