How to Send Personal Mail to Someone at Cherokee County Jail (JailATM processing)
Personal mail to inmates no longer goes directly to the jail. Instead, it's routed through JailATM's processing center, where staff open, scan, and deliver it electronically.
Starting December 18, 2023, personal mail for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office goes through JailATM's central processing system. You send letters to a processing facility (not the jail), where staff open the envelope and scan the contents. This change helps prevent drugs and contraband from entering the facility.
Once JailATM receives your letter, they scan it and email it to the inmate at the jail. Physical originals are discarded within 60 days of receipt. The scanning and delivery service is free for both the public and the Sheriff's Office.
Where to Send
- ✓ JAILATM.com - Cherokee Sheriff’s Office
- ✓ Inmate Name / Inmate Number
- ✓ 925B Peachtree St. NE, Box 2062

Before sealing your envelope, check the processing center's limits. Pages can't be larger than 8.5" x 11", and you can't send more than 100 pages per envelope. If you have more than 100 pages, split them into separate envelopes to avoid rejection.
- Mail your personal letter to the JailATM processing address - Personal inmate mail is routed to a central processing facility (not directly to the jail).
- JailATM opens and scans the contents - The mail is opened and scanned at the processing center.
- The scan is delivered electronically to the jail - The scanned mail is sent electronically (emailed) to the inmate at the jail facility.
- Plan for the physical original to be destroyed - After scanning, originals are discarded within 60 days of receipt, so keep any originals you may need before you send them.
