How to Register for Free Release & Custody Notifications (IVSS) — Childress County Jail

IVSS (Integrated Victim Services System) alerts you by phone or email when there's a custody update. Childress County participates in the program, and registration is free - for victims and the general public alike. The county's participation is funded through a grant from the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), and they contract with Sylogist to run the system.

Once registered, you'll get notifications by phone and email. The online portal lets you manage your contact info, update preferences, and review past alerts - handy for keeping track of what's been sent.

How quickly you hear depends on the alert type. Emergency notifications - warrant actions, escapes, recaptures - go out in real time. Everything else is sent between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. If something non-urgent happens after hours, you'll get that notification the next morning.

1. Choose phone or online registration - You can register through a toll-free phone option or by using the IVSS/VSD online portal.
2. Look up the person you want notifications for - Provide the inmate’s full name or the jail-assigned identification number.
3. Enter your contact information - Add the phone number and/or email address where you want to receive notifications.
4. Finish registration (free) - Complete the prompts to activate free telephone and email notifications.
