Getting Set Up to Receive Phone Calls from an Inmate at Christina Melton Crain Unit

You'll need to register your phone number through the Texas Inmate Telephone Friends & Family Enrollment system. Before you start, grab the offender's TDCJ number - enrollment won't work without it. That number links your phone registration to the right person.

Don't have the TDCJ number? Look it up using the online inmate search, or call (936) 295-6371 or (800) 535-0283.

1. Go to the Texas Inmate Telephone Friends & Family Enrollment site - this is where you register your number before you can receive calls.
2. Enter the offender’s TDCJ number - you’ll need it to complete the registration.
3. Confirm you’re the phone’s registered owner - enrollment requires you to verify the number belongs to you.
4. Confirm you’re 18 or older - you must be at least 18 to register.
5. Agree to accept calls from the inmate - you’ll be asked to confirm you allow calls to that number.
6. Acknowledge the call restrictions - you must agree you will not forward calls, make three-way calls, or use speakerphone on calls you receive from the inmate.
