CBCC Dress Code: What to Wear (and What Will Get You Turned Away)

Dress code is one of the fastest ways to lose a visit at CBCC. Keep your outfit simple, follow the rules below, and you'll avoid getting stopped at the door.

CBCC does not allow visitors to wear clothing that resembles state-issued garments. The facility specifically calls out khaki pants, gray sweatpants, and gray sweatshirts. The reason is straightforward: if something urgent happens, staff need to quickly tell visitors and incarcerated people apart. If you're unsure whether something "looks like" state-issued colors, pick a different option. Even an ordinary-looking item in the wrong shade can be enough to get you turned away before you ever reach the visit room.

Show up in something that violates the dress code and CBCC may offer loaner clothing, but only up to two times. Think of it as a limited courtesy meant to save a visit, not something you can count on every time. After two dress code violations in a year, you may be denied visiting privileges for that day. If you've already needed loaner clothing before, treat your next visit like a last warning. Choose a conservative outfit you know will pass.
