How to Visit Clark County Detention Center (NV)

Before you make plans, confirm where your person is housed. The North Valley Complex location does not offer public visits, so you'll need to plan around the other available options. Remote (video) visitation is scheduled to be available starting 10/8/2024. If you want a video visit, select a "Remote Visit" time when you schedule. Picking the wrong visit type can cause confusion later, especially if you were expecting a video session.

Build in extra time for check-in. Your visit clock starts at the scheduled time, not when you finish checking in. Show up right on the dot with a slow line, and you'll lose part of your visit.

You can register as a visitor two ways: online through the facility's visitation portal, or in person at Clark County Detention Center (330 S. Casino Center Blvd.). For online registration, you'll need a valid photo ID and an email address. The process also requires uploading a photo of yourself and a photo of your driver's license. After you submit, CCDC must approve newly registered visitors before you can schedule a visit. Don't wait until the last minute. If you'd rather register in person, CCDC offers walk-in registration from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., seven days a week.

Note: If a scheduled video visit is cancelled by the system, it will not be automatically rescheduled. Plan to go back in and reschedule it yourself.

Steps to Follow

  • Register online through the visitation portal, or register in person at CCDC (330 S. Casino Center Blvd.).
  • If you register online, have a valid photo ID and an email address ready.
  • Complete the web registration uploads (a photo of yourself and a photo of your driver’s license).
  • Wait for CCDC to approve a new registration before trying to schedule a visit.
  • For remote (video) visits starting 10/8/2024, select a “Remote Visit” time when you schedule.
  • Arrive early for check-in since the visit starts at the scheduled start time.
  • If your person is at North Valley Complex, plan for non-public options since there are no public visits at that location.
  1. Treat a system cancellation as final - video visits cancelled by the system are not automatically moved to a new slot.
  2. Reschedule the visit yourself - go back into the scheduling system and choose a new available time.

Before trying to schedule, double-check that your registration is complete. Online registration requires a valid photo ID and an email address, plus uploading both your own photo and a photo of your driver's license. Most missed visits at this stage come down to approval status. CCDC has to approve newly registered visitors before you can schedule, so confirm your approval before picking time slots.

Verify that the visit option fits your situation before committing to travel or time off. North Valley Complex has no public visits, so don't plan an in-person public visit there. If you're scheduling a remote (video) visit, confirm you're booking the right appointment type. Starting 10/8/2024, remote visits are available. Select a "Remote Visit" time when scheduling.

Reconfirm your timing plan the day of your visit. The facility's guidance: arrive early to check in because your visit time begins at the scheduled start, even if you're still in line.

Note: If you get a cancellation notice for a video visit, check for the facility's instructions on next steps. System cancellations aren't automatically rescheduled, so you'll need to pick a new time yourself.
