Visiting at the Clements Unit happens on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Each visiting cycle runs Monday through the following Sunday, and eligible inmates get one scheduled visit per cycle. A standard visit lasts two hours, starting when both you and the inmate are present. These are contact visits with limited physical contact—one embrace and kiss at the start, one at the end, and you can hold hands on top of the table where staff can see. For electronic messaging, Clements uses JPay—create an account at www.jpay.com, then purchase electronic message stamps before sending e-messages. Phone calls work differently. You can't dial the unit or call an inmate directly. Instead, register your phone number at texasprisonphone.com and have the inmate's TDCJ ID number ready so calls can reach you. Mail for people at the Clements Unit goes through TDCJ's digital mail platform, which took effect September 6, 2023. Most incoming personal mail gets sorted, scanned, and uploaded to the inmate's secure tablet. To send postal mail, address it with the inmate's full first and last name plus their TDCJ number, and mail it to TDCJ Digital Mail Processing Center, PO Box 660400, Dallas, TX 75266-0400.
