How to Schedule Your First Visit at Clements Unit: Step‑by‑Step (TDCJ scheduler)

To schedule a visit at the Clements Unit, you’ll need your own TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler account - visitors must create their own accounts. Unit staff can’t set up a visitor account for you. Once your account exists, staff can help with updates to your information (like names and addresses), but the first step has to come from you.

Start by registering with a valid email address. After you submit it, the scheduler sends you an email with a 7-digit validation code and a link to finish your account registration. Keep that email handy - you’ll use the code and the link to complete the setup.

After you set your password and move forward, you’ll hit the Background Questionnaire. Every question has to be answered before the system will let you continue. If you leave anything blank, you won’t be able to move on to the next step of creating your account.

Step3 Visitor Profile

  • Enter your phone number as XXX XXX XXXX (use spaces, no dashes).

Note: If you forget your password or get locked out, enter your account email and use the “Forgot Password/Reset Password” link - reset steps are sent to you by email.

How to Schedule Your First Visit at Clements Unit: Step‑by‑Step (TDCJ scheduler)

When you add the person you want to visit, the scheduler will ask for their TDCJ or SID number. The number you enter must be exactly 8 digits long. If it’s shorter, longer, or missing a digit, the scheduler won’t match it correctly.

  1. Look up the TDCJ/SID number if you don’t have it - Use the TDCJ Offender Search tool (at https://offender.tdcj.texas.gov/OffenderSearch/start.action) to find the correct 8-digit number.
  2. Enter the number exactly as shown - The scheduler requires an 8-digit TDCJ or SID number.
  3. Confirm you’ve matched the right person - Once the search returns the correct person, you can continue with selecting your relationship in the scheduler.

After you add the inmate, you’ll go through the relationship request/approval part of the process before you can schedule. Remember: you handle the account creation on your side, and unit staff can’t create the account for you - but they can assist with updates after your account exists, which can matter if you need information corrected while you’re trying to get set up.

  • “Schedule Visit” - You can schedule a visit with that inmate through the scheduler.
  • “Call Unit” (or the Schedule Visit button is blank) - You’ll need to call the inmate’s unit of assignment to schedule.
  • “Not Approved for Visits” - Your Visitor/Inmate relationship can be confirmed and you still won’t be able to schedule if the inmate’s visitation privileges have been removed; the system shows “Not Approved for Visits” instead of the Schedule Visit button.

Quick Troubleshooting

  • Use “Forgot Password/Reset Password” (with your account email) to get reset steps by email.
  • Re-enter your phone number as XXX XXX XXXX (spaces only, no dashes).
  • Double-check the inmate TDCJ/SID number is exactly 8 digits.
