Your Coffield Unit Visitor Checklist: What to Bring and What to Leave in the Car
A smooth visit starts in the parking lot. Use this Coffield Unit checklist to know what to bring, what to leave behind, and how to avoid getting turned away at the gate.
If you're 18 or older, bring a current, government-issued photo ID. At least one form of ID must show your current physical address. There's an exception for visitors who are certified family violence victims with address protection through the attorney general. If staff find an ID questionable, they can ask for additional verification.
Small Permitted
- β Small wallet
- β Clear plastic bag (Ziploc-type)

You can bring up to $35 in coins into the visitation area. Paper money is not allowed inside the secured perimeter. Vending machines are available in the visitation areas, so coins are your only cash option for snacks or drinks. Plan accordingly.
