Setting Up the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler for Coleman Unit: Account Creation to Scheduling
Scheduling a visit through the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler for someone at the Coleman Unit takes a few steps: create your account, verify your email, and complete the Background Questionnaire. Once that's done, you're ready to start scheduling.
You need to create your own TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler account. TDCJ staff won't do this for you, so don't wait for the unit or central office to "set you up" in the system. After submitting your email to start registration, you'll get a verification email.
- Start account creation with your email - enter a valid email address in the scheduler and submit it.

- Use the code or the link provided - the email also includes a link that takes you back to the scheduler to finish registration.
- Enter the 7-digit code when prompted - type in the validation code to confirm you’re the owner of that email address.
- Continue through registration - once the code is accepted, you can move forward with the remaining account setup screens.
Tip: If you don’t see the validation email right away, check your spam/junk folders and search your inbox for the message with the 7-digit validation code and registration link.
During registration, you'll hit the Background Questionnaire. Every question requires an answer - you can't skip any or leave fields blank. Set aside enough time to complete it in one sitting. If you leave something unanswered, your account setup won't move forward.

- ✓ Your basic personal details (legal name and other identifying information you normally use on official forms)
- ✓ Your current contact information (like your address)
- ✓ Details about who you’re trying to visit and your relationship to them (so you can answer the questionnaire completely)
The TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler only works for residents of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Live outside those countries? Contact the Coleman Unit directly to ask about your options.
- Create your scheduler account yourself - accounts have to be created by the visitor, not by TDCJ staff.
- Verify your email - use the 7-digit validation code (or the link in the email) to complete the email verification step.
- Finish the Background Questionnaire - answer every question; you won’t be able to continue until it’s fully completed.
- Return to the scheduler after registration - once your account setup is complete, you can proceed to the part of the portal where you connect your account to the person you want to visit at the Coleman Unit and move into scheduling.
