What Happens When Your Video Visit Gets Disconnected at Columbia County Prison

Columbia County Prison has a strict no-refund policy for off-site video visits. Miss your scheduled session? No refund. Internet drops mid-call? You won't be able to reconnect, and you won't get your money back.

Quick reminder: To use virtual visitation, family and friends register online through ICSolutions.

Visits get marked as missed fast. If either you or the inmate isn't logged in within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, Columbia County Prison counts the session as missed.

Planning around a disconnect or missed session? Keep the scheduling rules in mind: virtual visits must be booked at least 24 hours ahead, and you can schedule up to two weeks out.

What Happens When Your Video Visit Gets Disconnected at Columbia County Prison
  1. Register for virtual visitation - Set up your account through the ICSolutions registration site before you try to book anything.
  2. Schedule with the required lead time - Book your visit at least 24 hours ahead, and use the option to schedule up to two weeks in advance when you can.
  3. Double-check the appointment details - Before the day of the visit, confirm you’re signed in to the right account and that the date/time you selected is the one you intended.
  • Log in a little early so you’re not racing the 10-minute missed-visit window
  • Test your internet connection and camera/mic ahead of time
  • If possible, use a stable connection (and avoid switching between Wi‑Fi and cellular during the visit)
  • Close other apps/tabs that might slow your device or steal bandwidth
  • Plug in your device or keep a charger nearby so you don’t lose power mid-visit

Schedule during the facility's published visitation windows for the person you're visiting. For Housing Units A, B, B-ISO, C, DN, DS, F, and Medical, virtual visitation runs seven days a week: 8:30 AM–12:30 PM, 1:30 PM–3:30 PM, and 4:30 PM–9:30 PM. Book within those blocks and be logged in right at your start time - that's the best way to avoid getting marked as a no-show.

Warning: If you lose internet connection during an off-site video visit, you won’t be allowed to reconnect - and visits can be marked missed after 10 minutes if either side isn’t logged in.
