How to Send a Food Package to a Georgia Inmate (Union Supply guide)

Sending food packages to someone in a Georgia Department of Corrections facility goes through the approved Union Supply program. Success comes down to three things: using the right ordering channel, staying within spending and weight limits, and submitting before the deadline closes.

Family and friends can place Union Supply food package orders for anyone in a GDC facility. For mail orders, send to: Union Supply, 2500 Regent Blvd Dept. 421 P.O. Box 619059, Dallas, TX 75261-9059.

One exception: Riverbend Private Prison in Georgia uses the Access Securepak package program (not Union Supply) until further notice.

For mail orders, use this address exactly: Union Supply, 2500 Regent Blvd Dept. 421 P.O. Box 619059, Dallas, TX 75261-9059. If you're filling out a paper form, double-check that your handwriting is legible and every required field is complete before mailing.

You can place orders by phone at 1-562-361-5719 or toll-free at 1-855-247-0563.

Prefer fax? Send to 1-310-603-1188. Make sure every page is complete and readable, especially offender information and payment details. A missing page can delay or block processing.

Order forms are available on the Georgia Inmate Package website. The form lists every food item pre-approved by the Georgia Department of Corrections. You can also download a PDF version of the instructions if you want a printed copy for your records.

Shipping and handling fee: Every order has a $2.95 shipping and handling charge. This fee is non-refundable.

For State Prisons and Integrated Treatment Facilities (ITFs), the cap is $100 per offender or 15 lbs. per package, whichever you hit first. If your order exceeds either limit, you'll need to trim it down.

Probation Detention Centers have lower limits: $50 per offender or 7 lbs. per package, whichever comes first. Not sure which type of facility your loved one is in? Confirm before ordering so you don't build a package that gets cut down.

Multiple orders for the same offender get consolidated into one package. The combined total won't exceed the spending or weight limits. Placing several separate orders doesn't increase what your loved one can receive during that ordering period.

Union Supply has program deadlines. Orders received after the deadline won't be accepted. Check the current ordering window before placing your order, and build in buffer time for mail or fax delivery.

Practical Tips

  • Download the order form so you can work directly from the approved item list.
  • If you want a printable reference, download the PDF version of the page content about sending food packages.
  • Follow the form instructions exactly and stick to the approved item list shown on the form.
  • Keep a copy of what you submitted (and any confirmation details you receive) for your records.

Before filling out an order, confirm you're using the right program for the facility. Riverbend Private Prison uses Access Securepak until further notice, not Union Supply. And remember: orders that arrive after the program deadline are rejected. Timing matters as much as getting the details right.
