How to Get on Someone's Visitor List at Craggy CC: Complete Application Guide

You can't visit Craggy CC until your visitor application has been completed and approved by facility staff. That approval is what officially puts you on your loved one's visitor list. Here's something that catches people off guard: the incarcerated person has to request the blank visitor application forms from the facility. They can't just download them or have you pick them up. Make sure your loved one asks for the form so you can fill it out and return it for review.

Note: Visits are by appointment only, so you’ll need to call or email the prison to schedule. Once you have an appointment, call the day before to confirm the facility’s visitation status.

Documents to Attach

  • If you’re age 16 or older: attach a copy of an approved photo ID to your visitor application.
  • If the visitor is a minor under 16: attach a copy of the minor’s birth certificate to the application.

Each incarcerated person can have up to 18 approved visitors total - adults and minors combined. If your loved one is close to that limit, that might explain why they're selective about who they ask to apply. Remember: the blank application forms must come from the facility. Your loved one needs to get those forms from Craggy CC directly so the right paperwork reaches the right people.

Some official visitors follow a different process. Legal, law enforcement, consular, local and state Family Services, and Juvenile Court officials must register with the facility before visiting, and they do not count toward the offender’s 18 approved visitors.

Applications often get denied for basic mistakes. Submitting a photocopy instead of an original, leaving sections blank, or forgetting attachments can all lead to disapproval. False information - even if it seems minor - can also sink your application. Background issues matter too. Your application may be denied if you have a prior criminal record, if you were involved in the crime your loved one is incarcerated for, if you're an ex-offender released less than 12 months ago, or if you're currently on probation, parole, or supervised release (or have been off supervision for less than 6 months).

Note: There may be exceptions to some disqualification rules for immediate family members.

Still waiting on approval - or already told you can't visit? Don't make plans based on assumptions. For any scheduled visit, call the prison the day before to confirm visitation status.
