Visits at NCDAC prisons - including Craggy CC - are by appointment only. You can't just show up. Call or email the facility to schedule your visit time. One more thing: call the day before your visit to confirm. Schedules can change, and a quick phone call could save you a wasted trip.

Plan on security screening at the entrance. All visitors must pass through - and clear - a metal detector before they’re allowed to enter the prison.

Expect a pat-down search as well. At Craggy CC, male officers only search male visitors, while female officers may search visitors of either gender.

Keep your outfit simple and follow the measurement rules. Bermuda-length shorts are fine as long as they're no more than three inches above the kneecap. Dresses and skirts? Same rule - hems can't be more than three inches above the kneecap. Watch the slits too; they can't go higher than three inches above the knee. There's one exception for kids: pre-teens can wear dresses and skirts shorter than the three-inch limit.
