How to Send Mail, Photos, and Legal Documents to Someone at Craig County Jail
Craig County Jail changed how regular mail works on August 1, 2020. All non-legal and non-commercial mail now has to go either electronically through jailATM.com or to the jailATM vendor address - not directly to the jail. Your mail won't arrive as a physical envelope. The vendor scans everything and delivers it electronically to inmates through kiosks or tablets inside the facility. Once scanned, the original gets destroyed. Treat anything you send as a one-way trip - you won't get it back.
Print the inmate's full name and ID number clearly on the outside of your envelope or postcard. That name-and-ID match is how the system routes scanned mail to the right person. Missing or illegible info can mean delays, misdirection, or mail that never arrives.
Heads up: If the inmate’s full name and ID number aren’t clear on the outside, the vendor may not be able to deliver the scanned mail to the kiosk/tablet system, which increases the chance it gets lost or rejected.
