Anyone 16 or older needs a valid photo ID to enter the visiting area. Staff check IDs at the door, and showing up without one means your visit ends before it starts. Bringing a teen who's 16 or 17? They need their own valid photo ID too. It's the simplest thing to pack and the easiest to forget when you're rushing out.

You can bring cash for vending machines in the visiting area, but there are limits. The maximum is $50 per visitor (any age), and only $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills are allowed. Want snacks or a drink during your visit? Bring your money in those denominations so you're not stuck with bills you can't use. Count it before you leave and stay at or under $50.

If you take prescription medication, bring only what you'll need while you're there. Leave the extra doses at home. The medication must be in its original container with a readable label showing the drug name, dosage, and who it's prescribed to.

Infants Items

  • No more than five (5) diapers
  • No more than three (3) clear baby bottles
  • No more than two (2) toddler sipper cups
  • No more than three (3) clear plastic jars of sealed (unopened) baby food

Cross City Corrections Institution enforces a dress code, and a couple of rules trip people up. Shirts are mandatory. So are shoes. Skip Heelys and any footwear with removable parts. If pieces of your shoes come off, pick a different pair or risk getting turned away at check-in.

Warning: Never give money directly to an inmate. The only cash you should bring is up to $50 per visitor, in approved bills, for vending machines in the visiting area.
