When you arrive at Crowley, you'll register by completing AR Form 300-01B, the Offender Visitor Consent to Search Authorization. This form covers consent for searches during the entrance and visiting process. Good news: you don't have to fill it out every time. Once completed, it stays on file for one year before you'll need to submit a new one.

Before check-in day, make sure your visitor approval paperwork is in order. To apply to visit someone at Crowley, complete Visitor Application AR 300-01A and return the signed form to the facility where the person is housed. Adults must include a copy of a current, valid government-issued photo ID with the application - incomplete applications may be rejected. I recommend bringing the same ID you used for your application. Keeping it consistent helps check-in go smoothly.

Crowley houses medium-custody inmates, so expect an identification hand-stamp as part of entry. Staff will stamp the back of your right hand with an ultraviolet marker before you go in (children under three are exempt). On your way out, they'll check the stamp with a black light to confirm your identity before you leave.

If you refuse a procedure: If you refuse to submit to any entrance or visiting procedure, you’ll be denied entry and required to leave DOC property immediately.

Bringing kids? Plan to stay hands-on the entire time. You're responsible for supervising and controlling your minor children throughout the visit. If a child becomes disruptive and doesn't settle down after verbal instruction from the supervising adult, the visit will be terminated.

Practical Tips

  • Bring the same current, valid government-issued photo ID you used with your visiting application.
  • Bring your visit confirmation (printed or on your phone) so you can show it quickly at check-in.
  • If you haven’t been approved yet, complete Visitor Application AR 300-01A and return the completed, signed form to the facility where the offender is housed (adult applications must include a copy of a current, valid photo ID; incomplete applications may be rejected).

Even when everything is done correctly, visits aren't unlimited. The number of visitors someone can receive and how long visits last may be limited by the facility's schedule, space, and staffing - so confirm details before you drive out.
