What You Can't Bring to Crowley: A Complete Visiting Restrictions Checklist

Leave all portable electronic devices behind. Cell phones, tablets (including iPads), smart glasses, pagers, portable radios, portable computers - none of these are allowed in the visiting area at Crowley. The only exception is a device specifically authorized by the DOC executive director. If you don't have that authorization, leave it secured in your vehicle or at home.

Tip: Think you need to bring an electronic device? It requires authorization from the DOC executive director. Get that sorted out before you arrive.

Tobacco and vaping items are contraband here. Cigarettes, any tobacco products, tobacco substitutes, vaping products, e-cigarettes, vaping liquid - leave all of it behind. Don't bring them through the entrance thinking you'll stash them somewhere.

Warning: Show up with tobacco or vaping items, and you'll be stopped to deal with them before your visit can continue.

  1. Bring only what you’ll need for the visit - You can’t bring extra prescription medication beyond the amount needed for the duration of the visit.
  2. Keep it in the original pharmacy container - The medication must be in the pharmacy-issued container with the pharmacy label attached.
  3. Hand it over when you arrive - Let staff know you have prescription medication so it can be handled the way the visiting room requires.

Bring your prescription medications if you need them, but know they won't stay with you. Staff will hold them at the officer station during your visit for accountability purposes. This is standard procedure - just be prepared to hand them over temporarily at check-in.
