Visitation at Cumberland County Jail

How to visit, scheduling, dress code, and visitor requirements

Overview

Cumberland County Jail allows inmates up to two in-person visits each day and up to 14 visits per week. The jail publishes detailed weekday and weekend/holiday visiting blocks, but the facility FAQ lists a different daily schedule (9:00–11:00 AM and 2:00–4:00 PM)—check the facility pages before you go. If you're 16 or older, you'll need to register and sign in through the GTLVISITME website (returning visitors use their username and password). Arrive at least five minutes before your scheduled visit. Check in late by more than five minutes, and the GTL system automatically cancels your visit. Each visit allows either two adults and one child or one adult and two children. The jail enforces a strict dress code and prohibited-items rules.

How to Send Letters, Photos, and Books to Someone at Cumberland County Jail (Avoid Rejections)

If you've sent mail to Cumberland County Detention Center before, here's the biggest change: your letter doesn't go to the jail anymore. Starting June 26, 2023, all personal mail—letters, cards, photos, drawings—gets routed to an offsite mail-scan vendor. The vendor scans everything and delivers it digitally to the person in custody. Mail sent to the old address gets returned. Using the correct address is the single easiest way to avoid rejection.
