How to send mail and approved publications to someone at Curran‑Fromhold (CFCF)

Every piece of mail to Curran‑Fromhold Correctional Facility (CFCF) needs two things on the envelope: the facility's address and the incarcerated person's ID number (PPN). Missing the PPN? Your mail could be delayed or rejected entirely. Double‑check before you seal it.

Use this exact format as your template and copy it closely: John Doe PPN#123456 CFCF 7901 State Rd. Philadelphia, PA 19136

Paper and Writing Tools

  • Write your letter on plain white paper
  • Use pencil or pen
  • Do not write with crayons
  • Do not write with markers

Send your letter in a plain white envelope. If you decorate the outside, keep it minimal: no more than two decorative stickers per envelope, and don’t include any glitter on a card or anywhere in the envelope.

If you’re mailing photos to someone at CFCF, keep them small: each photo must be 5 x 7 inches or smaller.

Warning: Photos cannot show nudity, weapons, money, or drug use.

CFCF limits how many pictures an incarcerated person can have - up to five total. Stick to sending no more than five photos at a time.

Books, magazines, and newspapers must come directly from an approved third‑party vendor - you can't mail them from home. Acceptable vendors include Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Choose paperbacks only. Hardback books are not allowed at CFCF.

Personal packages aren't allowed at CFCF. Want to send reading material? Order through an approved vendor so it ships directly to the facility.
