Setting Up Your First Video Visit at Curry County Detention Center
Curry County Detention Center handles all personal visits by video through GettingOut (gettingout.com). There's no in-person option for regular visitation, so setting up a video visit is where you'll start.
Note: The supervisor on duty can end a visit at any time. Misconduct by either the visitor or the inmate can cut the visit short and may cost you future visitation privileges.
- Create your GettingOut account - You must have an account on gettingout.com to participate in personal video visits.
- Log in ahead of time - Don’t wait until your visit window starts; make sure you can sign in successfully before you try to connect.
- Keep your account details handy - Have your login and any visit confirmation details ready so you’re not scrambling at the start of the session.
Video visitation hours vary by housing unit. For all male and female housing units, visits run Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Those evening and weekend hours can help if you're working around a job or kids' schedules.
Special Management Units have different hours: Monday through Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. These visits happen at the facility and require an appointment - make sure one is set before you expect the visit to take place.
Conduct Rules
- ✓ Do not take screenshots, recordings, or photos of the visit session.
- ✓ Wear appropriate clothing during the video visit.
- ✓ Expect the inmate to remain fully clothed in the detention uniform for the duration of the visit.
Warning: Any misconduct by the visitor or the inmate can result in the visit being terminated and may also affect future visitation privileges. The supervisor on duty can end a visit at any time.
If your loved one just arrived - whether they turned themselves in or were transported from another facility - visitation may be restricted for 24 to 48 hours. Clergy and attorney visits are still allowed during that window.
Practical Tips
- ✓ Test your internet connection before the visit.
- ✓ Log into your GettingOut account early so you’re ready when the visit window opens.
- ✓ Keep your login information and any confirmation details in front of you during the call.
