Here's something that catches many families off guard: children under 17 are not placed on the visitor's card. They can still visit, but the adult bringing them must be properly listed and approved.

For in-person visits, kids under 17 can come on weekends only. They must be with an adult parent or legal guardian who is on the visitor's card. More broadly, anyone 17 or younger needs to be accompanied by an adult who is 18 or older. Make sure the right adult is present, or staff may turn the visit away.

Video visitation schedule: On-site video visitation runs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:00 am to 8:30 pm. Children under 17 cannot attend on-site video visits during the week. There are no video visitations on Wednesday.

When a minor visits, the adult matters just as much as the child. Kids under 17 can visit on weekends only when accompanied by an adult parent or legal guardian who is on the visitor's card. Anyone 17 or younger must be with an adult at least 18 years old. If you're coordinating with another family member, confirm that the adult bringing the child is actually on the visitor's card.

Responsibility for behavior: The adult (18 or older) who brings a minor is held responsible for the child’s actions and conduct during the visit.

  3. Treat the processing cutoff as your real deadline (weekends) - Visitors will not be processed after 1:30 p.m. on weekends.
