How to Send Money to Facility

Dallas County Jail has strict limits on what they'll accept for inmate trust fund deposits. As of February 14, 2022, the jail does not accept personal checks, payroll checks, money orders, tax refunds, stimulus checks, insurance checks, child support checks, or Social Security checks. If you were planning to mail or drop off any of those, you'll need to use one of the approved cash or vendor deposit options instead.

Whichever option you choose, you'll need the inmate's name and booking number so the money posts to the right account. Not sure how the name is listed or missing the booking number? Confirm those details before submitting a deposit.

Steps to Follow

  • Bring cash to the kiosk machine located at each Dallas County jail facility.
  • Have the inmate’s name and booking number ready before you start the deposit.
  • Double-check the name and booking number you enter so the funds go to the right account.
  • Use CashPayToday for a walk-in deposit (flat $5.00 fee).
  • Provide the inmate’s name and booking number as part of the deposit process.
  • Keep your receipt or confirmation information until the inmate confirms the funds posted.
  • Make an online deposit through AccessCorrections (fees advertised as low as $2.95).
  • Enter the inmate’s name and booking number carefully when prompted.
  • Save your confirmation details after you submit the payment.
  • Deposit by phone by calling 1-866-345-1884 (fees advertised as low as $3.95).
  • Have the inmate’s name and booking number ready before you call.
  • Write down any confirmation number you receive for your records.

Fees: CashPayToday charges a flat $5.00 fee. AccessCorrections advertises online fees as low as $2.95 and phone deposits as low as $3.95, but fees can vary. Confirm the total before you submit payment.

Policies change. Before you send anything, confirm the jail still isn't accepting personal checks, payroll checks, money orders, tax refunds, stimulus checks, insurance checks, child support checks, and Social Security checks. The jail's notice lists these restrictions as effective February 14, 2022.

  • Confirm the current kiosk availability and any access limits for making an in-person cash deposit.
  • Verify the current CashPayToday walk-in process and that the fee is still a flat $5.00.
  • Check the current AccessCorrections online fee for your specific deposit amount (the jail lists fees as low as $2.95).
  • Confirm the current phone deposit fee when calling 1-866-345-1884 (the jail lists fees as low as $3.95).
  • Make sure the deposit vendor options have not changed before you send money.

Before you pay, double-check that you have the correct inmate name and booking number in the format the system expects. This one step prevents most posting delays and misapplied deposits.
