How Attorneys Can Visit Clients at Danville City Jail

At Danville City Jail, attorneys can visit clients according to the jail’s attorney visitation schedule. The same schedule-based access applies to probation officers and parole officers visiting their clients.

If you need to see a client outside the posted attorney visitation schedule, you’ll need to arrange it with the Jail Administrator. Call 434-799-5130, ext. 6 to request an out-of-schedule attorney visit.

There’s also a separate option for setting visits at other times: attorneys (and ministers) may be able to schedule appointments by contacting the Adult Detention Center (ADC). This can be useful when you’re trying to coordinate around court, transport, or other timing constraints.

Attorney visits at Danville City Jail are confidential. If you’re meeting a client for the first time in custody, that confidentiality piece matters - your legal conversation is treated as a private attorney-client visit.

When you bring items for your client, keep the scope narrow: attorneys are only allowed to deliver legal material to inmates. If it isn’t legal material, assume it won’t be accepted through the attorney visit process.
