Your First Sunday Visit to Danville City Jail: A Practical Checklist

Before you make the trip, confirm the person you want to see is actually set up for visitation at the Adult Detention Center. Danville ADC only allows visitation for inmates who are scheduled to be there for more than 30 days; if they’ll be at ADC 30 days or less, visitation isn’t set up.

Sunday is the visitation day at Danville’s Adult Detention Center, and the overall visiting window runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. That’s the time range the facility conducts visits, not a guarantee you can walk in at any moment and be seen right away.

Visits are scheduled in assigned 30-minute blocks. Each inmate has a specific visitation time, and it’s the inmate’s responsibility to tell you what that time slot is - so make sure you know the exact start time you’re expected to check in for.

1. Plan to arrive about 10 minutes early - You’ll need that time to complete processing before the inmate’s assigned visitation time starts.

Bring a valid picture ID to every visit. A current driver’s license is an example of what works, but the key is that it must be a valid photo identification.

If you want to bring money for the person you’re visiting, make sure you’re on that inmate’s approved Visitation List. Visitors who are on an ADC inmate’s Visitation List may bring money for the inmate they are visiting.
