How to Put Money on an Inmate's Account at DeKalb County Jail (Kiosks, GettingOut, Fees)

DeKalb County Jail uses TouchPay Holdings, L.L.C. (doing business as GTL Financial Services, a ViaPath company) to handle inmate account deposits. Why does that matter? The website, phone number, and deposit method you need depends on which ViaPath/GTL system you're funding - AdvancePay, PIN Debit, or a GettingOut tablet/messaging account.

Where Deposit

  • Use a kiosk in the jail lobby (cash or debit card)
  • Use a kiosk in the Visitation Center lobby (cash or debit card)

Can't make it to a kiosk? You have two online options, and they serve different purposes. ConnectNetwork handles AdvancePay and PIN Debit deposits. GettingOut is for adding money to a tablet account or My Messaging account. Not sure which one you need? Think about what the money is for - phone calls and services through AdvancePay or PIN Debit, or tablet and messaging through GettingOut.

How to Put Money on an Inmate's Account at DeKalb County Jail (Kiosks, GettingOut, Fees)
  1. Decide what you’re funding - Use ConnectNetwork for AdvancePay and PIN Debit deposits; use GettingOut for the incarcerated person’s tablet account and My Messaging account.
  2. Go to the correct website - Make your deposit through ConnectNetwork (AdvancePay/PIN Debit) or through GettingOut (tablet/messaging).
  3. Complete the deposit in the portal - Follow the prompts in the site you chose to finish the transaction for the right account type.
  • AdvancePay (toll-free): (800) 483-8314
  • PIN Debit (toll-free): (888) 428-1845
  • GettingOut (toll-free): (866) 516-0115
  • GettingOut/Telmate Customer Care: 1-866-516-0115

Give yourself some lead time. GettingOut notes that funds may take up to 72 hours to become active on an inmate Trust & Commissary account - so a deposit you make today might not be usable right away.

  • Expect service fees when you use automated payment services to fund accounts.
  • GettingOut lists automated deposit transaction fees as $3.00.
  • GettingOut lists the fee as $5.95 if you use live operator assistance.
