How to Put Money on Someone's Account at DeKalb County Jail: Kiosk, Online, or Phone

DeKalb County Jail offers three ways to add money to someone's account: an in-person kiosk in the jail lobby or Visitation Center lobby, phone deposits through VIAPATH/GettingOut, and online deposits. For online options, the jail directs you to ConnectNetwork (for AdvancePay and PIN Debit deposits) and GettingOut (for tablet and messaging accounts).

Prefer to handle it in person? Kiosks in the jail lobby and Visitation Center lobby accept cash or debit card. Bring the inmate's identifying details with you - the kiosk will prompt you for them, and you don't want to get stuck halfway through.

  • Inmate’s full first and last name
  • Inmate ID number
  • Inmate’s date of birth (month/day/year)
  • Cash or a debit card

You can also deposit without visiting the jail. Call GettingOut at 1-866-516-0115 or use the GettingOut deposit page online. ConnectNetwork handles AdvancePay and PIN Debit deposits, while GettingOut is specifically for tablet and messaging accounts.

  1. Gather the inmate’s details - you’ll need their full name, inmate ID number, and date of birth.
  2. Choose how you want to deposit - use the GettingOut phone line (1-866-516-0115) or make an online deposit through GettingOut; ConnectNetwork is also listed online for AdvancePay and PIN Debit.
  3. Follow the prompts and enter the inmate info - carefully type in the name/ID/DOB exactly as requested.
  4. Complete the payment - confirm the amount and finish the transaction once you’re comfortable with the total.

Heads up: Automated deposits carry a fee. GettingOut charges $3.00 for automated transactions and $5.95 if you use live operator assistance.

Whichever method you choose, have three things ready: the inmate's full first and last name, their inmate ID number, and their date of birth (month, day, year).

Expect a service fee on automated deposits. GettingOut charges $3.00 for self-service transactions and $5.95 with live operator help. These fees are on top of the deposit amount, so factor them into your total before you pay.

Tip: Check the fee on the checkout screen (or listen for it during phone prompts) before confirming - that way you'll know exactly what you're paying.
