The New Vending Machine Rules at Denver Complex (DRDC and DWCF) — Effective Feb 26, 2025
Planning to use the vending machines during your visit at the Denver Complex? Starting Feb. 26, 2025, they're card-only—and there's a strict one-card rule with a name-match requirement.
Effective February 26, 2025, the visiting-area vending machines at the Denver Reception and Diagnostic Center (DRDC) accept only credit or debit cards. This change applies to the Denver Complex visiting vending machines, so if you’ve relied on cash during visits, you’ll need to adjust before you arrive.
Each visitor can bring in one credit or debit card - just one. If you normally carry multiple cards, pick the one you plan to use and leave the rest secured elsewhere. Bringing extras could cause problems at check-in.
Name-match requirement: The name on the credit/debit card must match the name on your government-issued ID. Bring the card that’s in your name and the ID that matches it.
Used to bringing cash for snacks? That won't work anymore - the visiting-area vending machines are credit/debit only as of Feb. 26, 2025. Bring one card that matches your government-issued ID. No matching card? Grab food or drinks before you enter the visiting area.
Not sure if your card will work? Ask DRDC visiting staff when you arrive. If your visit is denied and you want to request reconsideration, you can reach DRDC Visiting Staff directly by phone or email.
