What to Expect During the Check-In Process at DRDC

When you arrive for your visit, you'll register at the entrance by completing AR Form 300-01B - the Offender Visitor Consent to Search Authorization. This form explains the circumstances under which visitors may be searched, and it must be completed before you can enter. Here's the good news: you won't fill this out every time. Once completed, AR Form 300-01B stays on file for one year. After that, you'll need to submit a new one.

  • Plan to complete AR Form 300-01B (Offender Visitor Consent to Search Authorization) as part of your entry check-in.

At facilities housing medium or higher custody offenders, expect a UV hand stamp before entry. Staff will mark the back of your right hand with an ultra-violet marker. Children under three are exempt from the stamp.

Warning: If you refuse to submit to any entrance or visiting procedure, you’ll be denied entry and required to leave DOC property immediately.

Tips

  • Bring a valid, government-issued photo ID.
  • Be ready to complete AR Form 300-01B (Offender Visitor Consent to Search Authorization) during check-in.
  • Arrive during DRDC’s visitor processing window: 8:15 a.m. – 10 a.m.
  • If you miss the morning window, use the second processing window: 11:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
  • At medium or higher custody facilities, expect a UV stamp on the back of your right hand before entry (children under three are exempt).

For repeat visitors: the AR Form 300-01B you complete at entry stays active for one year, so you won't need to fill it out again until it expires. If the process feels frustrating, remember this - refusing any entrance or visiting procedure means you won't get in, and you'll be required to leave DOC property immediately.
