How to Schedule Your First In-Person Visit at Denver Women's Correctional Facility (DWCF)
Your first visit at DWCF comes down to three things: knowing the visiting days, booking your required appointment within the 7-day window, and showing up during the facility's processing windows. Here's how to get it right so you don't get turned away at the gate.
In-person visits at Denver Women's Correctional Facility (DWCF) happen on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You can't just show up, though. Appointments are required.
Entry is tied to specific visitor processing windows, not just the visit itself. DWCF processes visitors from 8:15 AM to 10:00 AM and again from 11:30 AM to 1:15 PM.
You can schedule your visit by phone or email. Call (303) 307-2544 during scheduling hours, or email doc_dwcf_visiting@state.co.us. Plan ahead, but not too far: appointments can't be made more than seven days in advance.
Before you request a slot, find out which weekend days the inmate is eligible for visits. At DWCF, an inmate can receive visits on Friday and Saturday, or Friday and Sunday. Visits can't happen on both Saturday and Sunday. Since in-person visiting runs Friday through Sunday, this weekend assignment tells you whether to plan for Saturday or Sunday (along with Friday).
To book by phone, call DWCF visiting at (303) 307-2544. If you have a general facility question that isn't about scheduling, the DWCF switchboard number is 303-307-2500.
To schedule by email, send your request to doc_dwcf_visiting@state.co.us. If you'd rather call, phone scheduling is available Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, at (303) 307-2544. Either way, remember the limit: DWCF doesn't allow appointments more than seven days in advance.

Plan your travel around the processing windows, not just the visit itself. DWCF processes visitors from 8:15 AM to 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM to 1:15 PM. Show up outside those windows and you could miss your chance to get checked in for that session.
Tip: Get there early enough to be ready when processing starts. Entry is limited to the 8:15 to 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM to 1:15 PM windows.
At check-in, you'll need to prove your identity. Every approved visitor over age 18 must present valid picture identification before being admitted.
You'll also complete AR Form 300-01B, Offender Visitor Consent to Search Authorization, when you register on entry. The good news: that form stays on file for one year, so you won't need to redo it every visit during that period.
Note: At facilities housing medium-or-higher custody offenders, visitors (except children under 3) get the back of their right hand stamped with an ultra-violet marker before entry.
Not approved to visit yet? Start with the visiting application. DWCF accepts applications by mail or email to the Visiting Department. For mail, address it to: Attention: Visiting Department, Denver Women's Correctional Facility, PO BOX 392005, Denver, CO 80239.
Before sending your application, double-check that you've included everything required. Once you're approved and on the visiting list, you can book an appointment by phone or email using the same Visiting Department contacts.
For quick, routine updates, DWCF has a recorded visiting information line at 303-371-4804 (Option 7).
Need general help reaching the facility? Use the DWCF switchboard at 303-307-2500. For basic visiting details, the recorded line (303-371-4804, Option 7) is often the fastest place to start.
DWCF is located at 3600 Havana Street, Denver, CO 80239.
DWCF offers several visit types: Contact, Non-Contact, Special Visiting, and Video Visiting. If an in-person day doesn't work for you, it's still worth asking what other options are available for your situation.
DWCF’s warden is Ryan Long.
