Set up your Securus account before Deuel Vocational Institution’s tablet transition

If your loved one is at Deuel Vocational Institution, set up your Securus account now - don't wait until the last minute. Once Deuel transitions, you'll need Securus for tablet-based services instead of ViaPath.

CDCR has an interim agreement with ViaPath to prevent service interruptions during the rollout, but the shift to Securus is happening facility by facility. For the most current rollout timing and cost details, check CDCR's tablets webpage - that's where the schedule by facility is posted.

Create Account

• ✓ Open a Securus account on the Securus website or in the free Securus mobile app so you’re ready when videollamadas and electronic messaging are available at Deuel.
• ✓ Plan how you’ll join video sessions: Securus Video Connect is web-based, and you can schedule and participate using the free Securus app, a computer, or a tablet (as long as you have internet access).

Planning to receive prepaid videollamadas once Deuel transitions? Set up funding ahead of time. In the Securus app, use AdvanceConnect to configure your account and add funds for prepaid video sessions. That way, you're ready the moment video goes live at Deuel.

1. Open the Securus app and go to Video Connect - Video Connect is web-based, and you can use the free app, a computer, or a tablet to participate.
2. Register for Video Connect - complete the registration inside the app.
3. Select “Permitir videollamadas” (Allow video calls) - this enables video calls so you can receive video sessions when Deuel transitions.
