What Happens If Your Money Transfer Gets Flagged: Chargebacks and Account Restrictions at Dick Connor Correctional
When a money transfer to someone at Dick Connor Correctional gets reported as unauthorized and becomes a chargeback, their account can be frozen for future deposits until it's resolved. Here's what that means and how to fix it.
When a transaction is reported as unauthorized and results in a chargeback, the inmate's account gets restricted - meaning your loved one can't receive new deposits through Access Corrections until the issue is cleared. The restriction stays in place until Access Corrections is reimbursed or the matter is otherwise resolved.
Lifting the restriction costs more than just the original amount. Access Corrections adds a $25 account reactivation fee on top of the reversed payment. So to clear the account, you'll need to repay the full chargeback amount plus $25.
If you send money to a restricted account, that payment doesn't go straight to your loved one's spending balance. Access Corrections applies it first toward reimbursing the unauthorized funds and covering the $25 reactivation fee. Only after those amounts are fully paid would any remaining funds become available to the inmate.
