How to Schedule Your First Visit at Dodge Correctional Institution (DCI)

All visits at DCI - both in-person (contact) and video (offsite) - go through ICSolutions. No last-minute bookings for in-person visits: you need to schedule at least 48 hours ahead. Available days depend on the person's housing status. In-person visits run Monday through Thursday for Reception and General Population (GP), with Saturdays open for GP only.

Note: Plan ahead - DCI requires in-person visits to be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance. Confirm whether your loved one is in Reception or GP, since that determines which days you can book.

Start by creating an account with ICSolutions - that's the platform DCI uses for both in-person and video visit scheduling. If you're 18 or older, you need your own account. Each adult visitor registers separately. Have the Party ID ready before you begin. You'll be asked for it during sign-up, and you can't complete registration without it.

  • Create your own ICSolutions account if you’re 18 or older
  • Have the person in custody’s Party ID ready before you start (you’ll need it during sign-up)

The Party ID trips up a lot of first-time visitors. You won't get it from the front desk or visiting staff - DCI staff can't provide Party ID information. The person in custody has to give it to you directly. Once you have it, enter the Party ID into your ICSolutions account so the system can link you to the right person for scheduling.

Tip: Before you submit your registration, double-check the Party ID with the person in custody so you don’t end up registering under the wrong number.

With your ICSolutions account ready, booking comes down to picking the right day and understanding the time slots. Remember: in-person visits must be scheduled at least 48 hours ahead, so look far enough out on the calendar. Match the day to the person's status. In-person visits are available Monday through Thursday for Reception and GP, with Saturdays open for GP only. The schedule shows sign-up times in 5-minute intervals - that's your arrival window, not the visit length. Visits can last up to 3 hours. You get a 15-minute grace period for a valid reason, but treat your slot like a firm check-in time.

  1. Pick a visit date at least 48 hours out - DCI won’t allow in-person visits to be scheduled with less notice.
  2. Choose a day that matches the person’s status - Monday–Thursday visits are for Reception and GP; Saturday visits are for GP only.
  3. Select a 5-minute time slot - that slot is your designated arrival time, not the length of the visit.
  4. Plan for the full visit window - visits can last up to 3 hours.
  5. Arrive on time for your slot - a 15-minute grace period may be allowed for a valid reason, but late arrival can still jeopardize the visit.

Two limits to know before you book. First, ICSolutions only lets you have two visits scheduled at once for DCI. If you already have two on the books, you'll need to complete one (or cancel it) before adding another. Second, weekly visit limits depend on housing status. General Population (GP) inmates get up to three in-person visits per week. Reception inmates get two.

Heads up: If booking keeps failing, check two things first: whether you already have two visits scheduled in the system, and whether you’re trying to book beyond the weekly limit for Reception vs. GP.
