How to Visit Dodge Corrections Inst., Wi (WI)

In-person visits at Dodge Correctional Institution (DCI) run Monday through Thursday for both Reception and General Population. Saturdays are open for General Population only. Regardless of the day, you need to schedule at least 48 hours in advance. There are also weekly limits: General Population can have three in-person visits per week, while Reception status allows two.

When you look at the schedule, sign-up times appear in 5-minute increments. Don't let that fool you into thinking the visit is short. Those are just the sign-up entries. Each in-person visit can last up to 3 hours.

DCI handles all visit scheduling through ICSolutions, for both in-person and video visits. If you're 18 or older, you'll need your own ICSolutions account. You'll also need the Party ID that the person in custody gives you. That Party ID links your account to theirs for scheduling.

Plan for the ID check at the door. Anyone 16 or older must show photo identification at check-in. Acceptable forms include a valid state driver's license, passport or visa, Department of Transportation ID, military ID, or a tribal ID with a photo.

For on-unit ICS video visits, the timing rules are strict. You must schedule at least 48 hours ahead and no more than seven days out. People in custody get one free video visit per week. An additional 25-minute visit may be available for $2.50. Note that ICS video visits are not available for people housed in RHU.

Steps to Follow

  • Create your ICSolutions account (required for visitors age 18+)
  • Get the Party ID from the person in custody and add it to your ICSolutions account
  • Schedule your in-person visit at least 48 hours ahead, choosing Monday through Thursday for Reception or General Population, or Saturday for General Population only
  • If you’re scheduling an on-unit ICS video visit, book at least 48 hours in advance and no more than 7 days into the future
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Valid passport or visa
  • Valid Department of Transportation (DOT) ID
  • Valid military ID
  • Valid tribal ID (must include a photo)
  • Stay within the weekly in-person visit limits (General Population: 3 per week; Reception status: 2 per week)
  • Don’t be thrown off by the schedule layout: sign-up times appear in 5-minute increments, but in-person visits can last up to 3 hours
  • Plan around the video-visit allotment: 1 free video visit per week
  • If available, an additional video visit may cost $2.50 for a 25-minute visit
  • If the person is in RHU, ICS video visits are not available

Before making travel plans, confirm the current in-person visiting days and the 48-hour advance scheduling requirement. For on-unit ICS video visits, double-check the booking window (at least 48 hours ahead, no more than seven days out) so the system doesn't block your request.

Verify the current video visit allotment and pricing before you schedule. DCI's materials list one free video visit per week, with a possible additional 25-minute visit for $2.50. ICS video visits are not available in RHU. If your loved one's housing status has changed, that can affect what's available.

Bringing anyone under 18? Check whether there are extra requirements for minors beyond the photo ID rule for visitors 16 and older. If you run into trouble with scheduling, make sure you have the correct Party ID from the person in custody and that your ICSolutions account is set up properly. Each visitor age 18+ needs their own account.
