Visitation

What to Bring (and Leave in the Car) for a DCI Visit

DCI (Dodge Correctional Institution) is strict about what comes into the lobby and Visiting Center. Pack light, bring the right ID, and you'll avoid getting turned away at the door.

Do a quick car check before you walk into the DCI lobby. Wallets, purses, watches, and cell phones all stay in your vehicle. Don't bring them inside. The lobby lockers are available, but only for your ID and car keys, so plan on carrying just those.

Want to use the vending machines during your visit? You can bring up to $25 in change per visitor. Paper money can't go past the lobby, so leave your cash bills behind.

  • Count out your vending money ahead of time (no more than $25 in change per visitor).
  • Put the change in a clear zip pouch before you arrive.
  • If you do not have a clear pouch, the lobby will have clear zip-lock baggies available for you to use.

Rule: Food and drinks cannot be shared during visits at Dodge Correctional Institution.

You can't leave money for persons in custody at DCI. If you were planning to hand off extra cash, keep it secured in your vehicle instead.
