How to Send Money to an Inmate at Dolph Briscoe Unit: Money orders, ACH, and Access Corrections

Mailing funds? Use a money order or cashier's check made payable exactly to:

1. Get a deposit slip - Ask the offender for one, or request one by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Inmate Trust Fund, PO Box 60, Huntsville, TX 77342-0060.
2. Fill out the deposit slip - Complete it with the offender’s name and number so the funds go to the correct account.
3. Add your sender details - Include the sender’s name and address with the deposit.
4. Mail everything together - Send the money order/cashier’s check and completed deposit slip to Inmate Trust Fund, PO Box 60, Huntsville, TX 77342-0060.

For a set-it-and-forget-it option, TDCJ offers a free monthly checking-account debit (ACH). The debit pulls from your account around the 5th of each month, and the funds credit to the offender's account around the 10th. Keep that timing in mind if you need money available by a specific date.

1. Complete the ACH authorization form - Fill it out with the information for the checking account you want debited.
2. Attach a voided check - Use a voided check from the account that will be debited.
3. Mail the form and voided check - Send both to Inmate Trust Fund, PO Box 629, Huntsville, TX 77342-0629.

Access Corrections is another option - it's an approved vendor for TDCJ facilities. You can deposit online at www.AccessCorrections.com, by phone at 1.866.345.1884, or with cash at walk-in locations. They charge a service fee, so you'll pay more than the deposit amount itself.

Warnings Things Not to Send

If you receive messages that feel like pressure, threats, or demands tied to deposits, treat it as a red flag. Report extortion to the unit warden or the Office of Inspector General. One more thing: funds in an offender's Inmate Trust Fund account don't earn interest, so there's no benefit to leaving extra money sitting there longer than needed.
